About Susan
I have been painting for over twenty years. In that time I have used water colours for the most part however over the last three years I have concentrated on mastering the technique of oils and acrylics.
I love the mixing of colours to reflect the light and texture on the canvas. I want to feel I can dive into the canvas and feel the water, to soak up the light and feel the warmth of the sun. I hope the person viewing my work feels this as well. This is what I am trying to achieve in my work.
I have sold my work through Fishers Fine Art Galleries and I have taken part in local exhibitions at the Old Stone House and at Annie’s Wine bar. Many works have gone to friends and family and sold to a number of local people as well as overseas buyers.
I feel I have finally developed my own style. I hope when my paintings are viewed you feel you are taken to a place of true calm and tranquillity where the New Zealand landscape excels.
In 2012 I have experimented with some modern art as a side line, with this type of art I try to include a New Zealand flavour as well as push myself with new ideas. All modern works are done in acrylic. I have really enjoyed doing this as I feel the result is a developing and exiting option in conjunction with my true love which is New Zealand landscapes.
I do hope my art takes you to places you love and maybe places you hope to go. Welcome to my website.
